AutoRent LB

Version 2026-11-01 — effective 1 November 2026

1. AutoRent is a marketplace

AutoRent LB ("AutoRent", "we", "us", "our") operates a rental marketplace in Lebanon, available as a mobile application www.autorentlb.com/app and at www.autorentlb.com. We connect customers with rental businesses and individual owners ("hosts","renters") who list cars, boats and activities.

The rental contract is between you and the host, not with AutoRent. The host owns the vehicle or boat, sets its price and rules, hands it over and takes it back, and is responsible for its condition, its papers and its insurance cover. We provide the platform: listings, booking, messaging, payment handling and support.

By creating an account or using AutoRent you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Prices are shown in US Dollars (USD).

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Your phone number is your login, and it must be verified before you can reserve anything.
  • We may ask you to verify your identity with a driver's licence, national ID or passport before you reserve. You must upload documents that are genuinely yours and still valid.
  • Keep your account details to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
  • One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else, and do not transfer yours.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile, provided you have no active booking and no outstanding balance with us.

3. Bookings

Every booking is a request. Choosing a car, boat or activity and pressing Reserve sends a request to the host. Nothing is reserved until the host accepts it.

  • The host can respond at any time before pickup. If they haven't by the pickup time, the request is cancelled automatically and you owe nothing.
  • Once the host accepts, the booking is confirmed for the dates and times you requested.
  • You cannot book your own listing.
  • What is included, what you must bring and any extra conditions are set by the host and shown on the listing. Read it before you book — it is part of your agreement with the host.
  • Some listings require a minimum or maximum rental length, a minimum notice period, pickup and return inside the host's opening hours, or a fixed duration. Boat rentals are booked for the durations the host publishes, and activities are limited by the places available.
  • Add-ons, delivery and a driver are optional extras where the host offers them. Their price is fixed at the moment you book and does not change afterwards, even if the host later changes their prices.

Offers from a host. The one exception: a host can send you an offer in chat, including in reply to a car request. It stays open for 48 hours (or until the rental would start), and accepting it confirms the booking straight away. If you pay online, the 24 hours to pay in section 4 start from that moment.

4. Payment

Two payment methods exist on AutoRent, and the listing says which are accepted.

  • Cash at pickup. You pay the host directly when you collect. Nothing is charged through the platform.
  • Whish (online). You pay through the Whish payment gateway after the host accepts, and you have 24 hours from that acceptance to pay. If you do not, the booking is cancelled automatically.

The price you see includes our service fee; we do not add a separate charge on top at checkout.

Security deposit. Many hosts ask for a refundable deposit. It is shown on the listing and on your receipt, it is paid in cash to the host at pickup and returned by the host, and it is not part of the total you pay through the platform. AutoRent does not hold, collect or return deposits, and disputes about a deposit are between you and the host, though you can ask us for help.

5. Changing or cancelling a booking

Before the host accepts, you can cancel for free.

After the host accepts:

  • More than 48 hours before pickup. You can cancel. Where you paid online, you are refunded the host's share of the price; our service fee is not refunded.
  • Within 48 hours of pickup. Where you paid online, you are refunded half of the total. Cash bookings cannot be cancelled this late through the app — contact us instead.
  • Cancellations are recorded with the reason you give.
  • Refunds are paid out by our team, not instantly by the gateway, so allow a few working days.
  • In the rare case where the host has already been paid out for an online booking, the platform holds nothing to refund and you will need to settle it with the host directly. The app tells you when a booking is in this state.

Shortening a rental is allowed and is approved automatically. The same 48-hour line decides the refund, and cash bookings cannot be shortened within 48 hours of pickup.

Extending a rental is possible for cars and activities, if the host agrees and the vehicle is still free. Extensions of boat rentals are not available.

If the host cancels an accepted booking, you are refunded in full, including our service fee, and the host pays a cancellation penalty.

6. During the rental — your responsibilities

The vehicle or boat is in your care from pickup until you return it. You agree to:

  • hold a valid licence for what you are renting, and carry it with you;
  • use it lawfully, and let only people the host has approved drive or operate it;
  • follow the host's rules on use, area, mileage, fuel and return condition, as agreed with them;
  • return it on time, in the condition you received it, to the agreed place;
  • pay for fuel, tolls, traffic fines and any penalty arising from how it was used while it was in your care;
  • pay the host for loss or damage that is not covered by their insurance;
  • tell the host immediately if there is an accident, a breakdown, a theft or any damage, and report it to the authorities where the law requires it.

Insurance cover, excess amounts and what happens after an accident are set by the host. Ask the host before you book if anything is unclear. AutoRent is not the insurer and is not a party to any claim.

If you do not collect. A host can report a no-show one hour after the booking was due to start. You then have 72 hours to tell us what happened from your booking page, and our team reviews both sides before deciding.

7. If you are a host

Listing on AutoRent requires an approved host application, including identity documents and your business details. Boats and activities are reviewed by us before they appear publicly; branches added later are reviewed too.

As a host you agree to:

  • list only what you are entitled to rent out, with accurate details, honest photos and valid papers and insurance;
  • keep your prices, availability and opening hours up to date;
  • respond to booking requests before the pickup time, hand over what was booked, on time and in the condition advertised;
  • deal with customers fairly and lawfully, and not discriminate;
  • handle deposits you collect fairly and return them promptly when due.

Our commission is deducted from your share of each booking, at the rate shown in your dashboard. For online payments, your earnings are held until the rental completes and then released to your wallet. For cash bookings, you keep the money and our commission is charged to your wallet when the rental completes — which may leave it negative until you settle it. Payouts are made to your Whish number on request, after a security check.

If you cancel a booking you have already accepted, the customer is refunded in full, including our service fee, and you are charged a cancellation penalty: a percentage of that booking's total price, deducted from your wallet. The rate is set by AutoRent and is the one in force when you cancel, and it will never exceed 20% of the booking total.

8. Reviews, messaging and conduct

  • You can review a trip once it is completed, and the host can review you. The reviews are published as written, so keep them honest and civil.
  • Use the in-app chat for anything to do with a booking; it is how we can help if something goes wrong. Sharing phone numbers or email addresses before a booking is confirmed may be blocked or flagged.
  • You can report a listing or a conversation from the app. Reports go to our team.
  • Do not use AutoRent to break the law, to defraud anyone, to harass anyone, to post false listings or reviews, or to take bookings off the platform to avoid our fees.

9. Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where we are required to act by law. We tell you the reason. Depending on the case, bookings on a suspended account may be cancelled and refunded; money already forfeited or refunded is not restored if the account is reinstated later.

10. Our responsibility

AutoRent provides the platform. We do not own, inspect, insure or operate the vehicles, boats or activities listed on it, and we do not guarantee that a host will perform as promised. Listing details are provided by hosts.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from a rental itself — including accidents, injury, damage, theft, fines, a vehicle that is not as described, or a host who cancels or does not show up. Where we are found liable, our liability is limited to the service fee we earned on the booking concerned. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Lebanese law.

The platform is provided as it is. We work to keep it available, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we publish the new version here with a new version date, and ask you to accept it the next time you open the app or the website. If you do not accept, you can keep browsing but cannot make new reservations.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by Lebanese law, and the courts of Beirut have jurisdiction over any dispute. If something goes wrong, tell us first — most things are settled faster that way.

These terms were written in English. If the Arabic version does not accurately reflect the meaning of the English text, the English version of these Terms & Conditions prevails and is the legally binding one.

Your personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
